ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

Floral therapy is a new approach exploring how working with flowers can support emotional balance, focus, and sensory development in children with special needs. Pink Clover introduced this initiative to bring structured floral sessions into schools and observe their impact on IEP students.

Each session combines creativity and sensory engagement in a calm, guided format. Our goal is to help students grow while collecting insights that may improve educational methods for special needs programs. All sessions are fully funded by Pink Clover LLC and provided free of charge to schools and families.

OUR PURPOSE

Since the field remains largely unexplored, Pink Clover treats this initiative as both a service and a form of applied research. Our goal is to better understand how floral design can help students manage sensory input and develop emotional awareness.

Teachers and aides are also invited to participate and receive basic floristry training, empowering them to continue these activities independently as part of classroom routines.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Each floral therapy session is guided by a trained Pink Clover florist and designed for students with IEPs, along with their teachers and parents. Sessions include a short demonstration, structured practice, and time for individual creativity.

Groups typically include five to eight students, with one florist facilitator and one to two supporting adults such as teachers or aides. Sessions last between thirty and forty-five minutes, adjusted according to age and focus levels.

HOW IT WORKS

Every session follows a calm, structured format where creativity becomes a tool for learning, focus, and emotional growth.

  • HANDS-ON LEARNING

Students explore color, texture, and shape while developing coordination and sensory awareness through guided floral design.

  • COLLABORATION & SUPPORT

Teachers, parents, and Pink Clover florists work together during each class, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for every child.

  • GROWTH THROUGH CREATIVITY

Each finished arrangement becomes a personal achievement, strengthening confidence, attention, and emotional regulation.

HOW WE RAISE FUNDS

Every Floral Therapy session is completely free for schools and families. To make this possible, Pink Clover raises funds through community support and charitable partnerships.

We organize donation campaigns, floral workshops, and seasonal fundraising events, where every contribution goes directly toward materials, transportation, and program expansion. These funds allow us to provide flowers, tools, and staff training at no cost to participating schools. Each donation helps bring us closer to offering floral therapy in more classrooms across Los Angeles and beyond.
